Riley & Sam’s Wedding at Anderson Lodge in Ariel, Washington was basically the dream if you love woodsy PNW vibes and Christmas energy without it feeling cheesy. They rented out the entire lodge for the week so they could hang with their people, slow down, and actually enjoy the time leading up to the wedding instead of just showing up for one chaotic day. It felt less like an event and more like a cozy winter retreat with a ceremony built into it. And honestly? That kind of energy changes everything!
If you’ve never been to Anderson Lodge, it’s tucked into the trees in Ariel, WA and it gives major Pacific Northwest cabin-in-the-woods vibes. Tall evergreens everywhere, mossy forest floors, soft string lights woven through the outdoor areas, it already feels magical without trying too hard. Riley leaned all the way into the winter feel with a sparkly gown and the most perfect fur-trimmed cape, which made so much sense in that forest setting. Sam wore a deep green suit that looked incredible against all the natural wood and evergreen tones. Add in the red florals and subtle Christmas touches and it felt festive, but still grounded in that earthy PNW way. Nothing overdone, just really intentional.

This is the part that really stood out to me. Instead of squeezing everything into one day, they had the space for it to unfold naturally. People were already there. They’d shared meals, morning coffee, and random late-night conversations throughout the week. So by the time the ceremony started, it didn’t feel like everyone had just arrived, it felt like a continuation of something that had already been happening.
You could feel that calm in the room. No frantic energy. No rushing through timelines. Just Riley & Sam standing up there, surrounded by people who had truly been part of their week, not just their wedding day. If you’re considering a Wedding at Anderson Lodge, I can’t recommend the multi-day approach enough. It completely shifts the vibe from “production” to “experience.”

The reception leaned into Christmas in the best way. Deep reds, evergreen garlands, ornaments on the tables, warm lights against all that natural wood. It honestly felt like a cozy holiday gathering, just with wedding attire. The twinkle lights overhead, friends forming circles on the dance floor, everyone fully committed to celebrating, it was fun in a very real, not-for-the-camera way. We also captured parts of the day on Super 8, which just hits different for winter weddings. The grain, the movement, the softness, it adds this nostalgic layer that feels so fitting for a week-long celebration like this. It doesn’t feel staged. It feels like a memory!

If you love PNW forest vibes, cozy winter energy, and the idea of actually spending time with your people instead of just hosting them for a few hours, a Wedding at Anderson Lodge is such a solid option. Especially around the holidays, when everything feels a little warmer and a little more intentional. And if Super 8 has been on your mind too, I’m always down. It’s such a cool way to document a weekend like this and preserve it in a way that feels timeless but still very you. If this sounds like your kind of celebration, let’s talk.
