There’s just something about a sunset by the water in the Pacific Northwest that feels unreal in the best way possible, and Bailey & Logan’s Woodmark Hotel engagement session honestly captured that feeling perfectly. Between the golden light reflecting off Lake Washington, the romantic little pathways around the hotel, and the way these two naturally melted into each other the entire evening, this session felt so effortlessly elegant while still staying relaxed and intimate. The Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland really gave us the best of both worlds, upscale waterfront vibes mixed with that calm, cozy summer evening feeling that makes you never want golden hour to end!

Romantic Waterfront Vibes During This Woodmark Hotel Engagement Session

One of my favorite things about this Woodmark Hotel engagement session was how cinematic everything felt without trying too hard. Bailey & Logan started the session in casual outfits that somehow looked both elevated and effortless, which matched the whole vibe of the evening perfectly. The soft greenery around the property, the ivy-covered staircases, and the warm light peeking through the trees gave everything this dreamy European summer energy while still feeling very Washington. And then once we made our way down toward the water? Fully obsessed.

The waterfront at the Woodmark Hotel is seriously such an underrated spot for engagement photos in Kirkland. The docks, the shoreline, the glow coming off the lake during sunset, it all photographs so beautifully, especially when couples are willing to just slow down and be together instead of overthinking every pose. Bailey & Logan were so natural with each other the entire time. Nothing felt forced. It honestly felt more like documenting a really sweet date night than a traditional engagement session, which always makes the photos feel that much more personal.

When Bailey changed into her second dressier look, the entire session shifted into this super romantic, almost editorial feeling while still staying soft and emotional. The sunset got even better as the evening went on, and the light reflecting on the water created the prettiest glow around them. Some of my favorite images from the whole gallery happened right at blue hour when the sky started softening and everything became a little moodier and quieter.

I also loved how versatile this location was throughout the session. Within walking distance we had lush greenery, clean architectural lines, waterfront paths, docks, rocky shoreline areas, and open sunset views over Lake Washington. That’s part of what makes the Woodmark Hotel such a perfect engagement session location, you can get a full gallery that feels dynamic and intentional without having to bounce around to a bunch of different places. Every little corner felt romantic in a completely different way!
